THINKING ABOUT GOING PRIVATE!!!
I dont' know what I'm suppose to do if I want to go private, I better talk to others that are private. I guess I need to invite you to view my blog if you are interested, so I think you need to leave your email address. Can you tell I don't really know what I am doing? Everyone keeps telling me that I better go private, especially with the looks of my girls. hahahaha So share with me what you know about going private. PRO's and CON's

Hi its Doug! How you go private is when your on your blog page looking at your blog go up to the costomize button and click on that and then after your to the next page were you can arrange things on your blog go up to settings and click on that and go to permissions and then go to blog readers in the middle of the page and click on the circle that sais, "only these readers." You totally need to go private. Brittany Jensen went private after she googled her sons name and he pulled up. A two year old. It is a predators hay-day when they can see kids on a blog and the city that they are in. Way to put your family first. You deserve to protect them by going private and it is easy parcheesy......Good luck, and let me know if I can come down and assist you with it.

i totally understand people's desire to go public but for some reason i just don't want to. for me-if an old friend from high school or something wants to see my blog, i don't mind and would like them to know what i'm up to. but that's just me. i totally understand why people go private. there is a setting that makes it slightly safer without being private...you have to check a box that says you DON'T want your blog to come up in a blogger search. that's all the security i use and it works for me...for now. if you choose to go private, please send me an invitation to read it! i love keeping up with you guys and hearing what you are up to! tylerandann dot burningham at gmail dot com. love you!!
I watched an episode on Oprah about interent preditors that scared me to death! Try googling your family's name any pictures on your blog attached with the right search will pull up if you are not private. I still blog surf and when I find old friends I just leave them a comment and my email if they want to view my blog. Then I know who is looking at my kiddos! If you need help setting up your private settings I would be more than happy to help you out.

I have tried googling my kids names and nothing has come up. However, I don't post my kids pics and names on the sidebar either, because I know that can bring them up. I try to never say exactly where I live and I don't allow my blog to come up when searched, so I feel OK about it right now. Any pictures I post of my house I blur out the address, as well as any street signs that are visible. I may change my mind later, but for now I am not too worried. Well, I think going private is a good idea, I've even been considering it... the only problem is that you have to have everyone's e-mail address that you want to view it. Which can be kind of a pain to collect.... but here is mine for when you do decide! bandehuff@live.com
I have been holding off on going private cause I like when people I know stumble across my blog from others blogs. I kind of follow Krista's rules. I am really careful not to link our first and last names when I post and I don't allow it to come up on a blog search either. I also never make reference to what city I live in. Koki has always wanted to go private but I am the one that has been holding off.
FYI. I did a google blog search on your last name and your blog came right up so maybe you can change your settings.
