RUGBY!!!!

My sweet boy made a BIG decision for his spring season sport. Trevor has always played soccer during the spring since he was 5 yrs old and has always looked forward to playing on the high school soccer team with his friend, Navy. Well, SCHS has a Rugby Team that had been established about 2 yrs ago and is very successful. All of the coaches approached Bryan last year and tried talking him into letting Trevor play, because they all saw him play football and knew that Trevor would be good and would love it. Bryan didn't think anything about it because he knew how much Trevor loved soccer and thought that he knew that Trevor wouldn't want to play that sport. WELL he was WRONG!!!! Trevor played a lot of Rugby with friends during the summer and gave it a lot of thought. So I talked to Trevor and asked him what he wanted to do. He said, I want to try Rugby but I don't know if I want to try it yet. So I told him, "If you are wanting to try Rugby, you need to do it your freshman year, if you end up NOT liking it, you always have Soccer." He said, OK I want to try it this year.
He has been going to the practices and has been doing a lot of watching from the sideline. Today was his first game that he actually got in and played. Watching him from the sideline during the game, I wasn't nervous at all because he had told me that he wouldn't be playing that day, so I thought I will sit and watch Rugby and TRY to understand the game. After halftime, Bryan had told me that Trevor's number is 17, I didn't think anything about it until I looked on the field and I saw NUMBER 17. Oh My Goodness, Trevor's out there. Then my stomach started turning, and I started praying for him.
"Please Heavenly Father, help him know what he is doing out there. Please protect him."
I was pleasantly surprised, he did AWESOME!!! After the game his head coach came up to him and told him, "Trevor, you definately have a Rugby future."

"Brotherly" Love

Yesterday I was having an emotional day, and received a phonecall from my brother, Clay. We talked gospel truths and he truly helped me. I had just gotten off my knees from praying & crying to my Heavenly Father and my phone rang, it was him. I am so grateful that he listened to the prompting of the spirit and acted upon it and called me. I needed to talk to someone and that someone was him and needed his advice. Our Heavenly Father hears our prayers and knows "US" individually and knows our needs. He has a plan for all of us and I have to always remember the BIG PICTURE. I needed MY BROTHER at that time. Thanks Clay, I sure love you.
Another Testimony building experience for me!!!

Bettering Myself

(This is mostly FOR ME and MY JOURNAL. If you would like to just BYPASS this post)

They are all reading their scriptures, even though they are comfortable. I am fine with that, as long as they follow along and read when asked.
Well, with this whole weightloss schedule that I am trying to keep, I got to thinking, I need to focus on ALL ME!!! From the Inside Out and Spiritually, Physically, and Emotionally. So I have my eating & exercise down and I have been trying to get reading my scriptures, etc. Well, I am done TRYING - I am going to DO IT. I woke my family up this morning at 6:15am for scriptures and I warned them last night and they were all game. So we started with prayer, "Stand A Little Taller" thought, READ and then ended with prayer again. WOW, what a difference this morning was. I know we hear it all the time, but it's so true, if we put the Lord first everything else will just fall into place. I totally believe this. Well after exercising I decided that I am going to read an article from the General Conference Issue everyday and focus on that article. Then I will share it with anyone that cares.
The article that I read was from Elder Juan A. Uceda-"He Teaches Us to Put Off the Natural Man" I totally needed this talk, he talked about how his family was doing scripture study and one of his children DID NOT want to PARTICIPATE at that moment. (Wow, I never have that happen. hahaha) So he ended up loosing his temper and hurting her feelings. He ended up apologizing and shared a real spiritual moment with her because of a scripture that she shared with him from her scriptures. "A natural man is an enemy to God and has been from the Fall of Adam..." It totally opened my eyes, we are all human and we all have moments with our children that take us over the edge, but we have to remember to NOT allow the Natural Man to take over. It talks about contention in our homes and how real it is and how Satan thrives on that.
I know that I was suppose to read this article and I will continue to browse through it all day and share it with my family tonight. I am so excited to read the next article, but I will focus one on at a time.

Growing Up

The baby of our family gave her first talk in Sacrament Meeting today. Now that she is an official young woman, it comes with privledges to give talks. She spoke on Dress and Appearance from the "For The Strength Of Youth" Pamphlet. So Saturday we sat down and wrote it out and every hour on the hour, starting at 1:00pm till 9:00pm, she came in to the family room and practiced in front of everyone and anyone that was there. Her poor friends heard it a few times. I just wanted her to get comfortable with what was on the paper, practice looking up and have some personality when she gave her talk and NOT be monotone. She did really well, I was so proud of her. It paid off to have her practice all day Saturday, she seemed comfortable up on the pulpit. At least it wasn't Stake Conference. When she was 8 our whole family spoke in Stake Conference and she spoke about Primary Music. It's amazing to me how the church gives us so many opportunities to grow and become better people.

New Beginnings 2011

This years New Beginnings had the theme of "The Biggest Gainer" kinds like "The Biggest Loser" but it was showing how the girls are GAINING values and using their Personal Progress to be stronger and better Young Women. It was just adorable. They had two trainers to help them with their Personal Progress and showed before and afters of how they applied their Personal Progress in their lives and they became better young women. Sooo cute. They also had commerical breaks-infomercial about Personal Progress and also getting a bowl of B.O.M.B = Book Of Mormon Book. The Leaders did such a good job. Cecilee also worked alot on this activity as one of her 10 hours projects. The young woman program is amazing and totally inspired.

The Pick Up of Jr. Prom

The roles were reversed, usually Cecilee is helping Cambria get ready for the dances and doing her hair. So I told Cambria, "Wow, the roles are reversed." She said, "Mom, I Do know how to do hair, I just chose NOT TO." She cracked me up, she wanted to do her best with Cecilee and repay her for all of the times she did her hair. She did a beautiful job. I love to see that sisterly love come through.

Cambria needed to get to work, so she took a quick pic and took off.

Cecilee was absolutely beautiful tonight. Cambria helped do her hair and get her ready. Cecilee told me about an hour and a half before she was going to be picked up that she needed a mask because it was a masquerade ball. She had gone and picked up a mask and some sequence, but she needed to get in the shower and start getting ready. I wonder how this mask is going to get made, MOM!!! Bryan's parents came to see Cecilee get picked up.
Our Beautiful Cecilee ready for the Masquerade Ball.

Landon putting Cecilee's corsage on.

Cecilee sticking Landon. "Don't worry, It will only hurt for a minute."

Cecilee and Landon ready for Junior Prom.

So cute, both of these kids were on the Junior Prom Royalty.

Getting ready to meet their group for pictures.

The Day of Junior Prom-Day date

Landon came and picked Cecilee up at 10:30am and they met the group and went shooting. While shooting they got in trouble and had to change their plans. So they ended up going to someone's house and played "JUST DANCE 2". She said that it was a lot of fun.

Going PRIVATE

Yes you read that right, I am going PRIVATE. Leave a comment or your address if you want to keep following my family. Thanks

"Major & Legend" Time

These were taken after the park, my pictures were a little wacky.
Major wanted to help Trevor fix the bike. Anywhere Trevor is, Major wants to be.

I took this while he was using his tool. Here is Legend, just about to get his diaper changed. Major looking on and smiling with his EYES. Look all done with the diaper change. He looks so big!!! We love when we have the opportunity to have Major and Legend come over and play. Trevor and Major have a bond that is unbelievable. Major thinks that he is Trevor's age and Trevor thinks of him as his little brother, that he never had. Trevor loves this kid so much and always has taken a BIG liking, or loving, to Major. It's so funny for me to watch, because most teenagers get annoyed with little kids, NOT Trevor, he loves this little kid. I love to watch them together. Legend is getting bigger and bigger every time we see him. He has the prettiest eyes and the cutest smile. He is such a happy baby. I love these two boys so much, I think of them as my own, can you only imagine when I get my own!!!! Watch OUT!!!

Junior Prom Assembly

Cecilee was nominated to be on the Junior Prom Royalty.
The Exec. Council did a good job with the assembly and the video of the contestants.
Cecilee's partner for the assembly was Dane, the boy who got struck by lightning.
She's been friends with Dane since they were in first grade, so she was happy about that.
Cecilee is part of the Junior Class Student Council, so she has been involved with putting the dance together and everything with Junior Week. She has been very busy.
