Physical Therapy

Cecilee started physical therapy with our neighbor Jane Hugunin, to get ready for surgery. The Dr. wanted her stiffness and swelling to go down before he could operate, so Cecilee went for the first time on her birthday. Jane had a balloon and some treats there waiting on her bed to wish her a happy birthday. She heated and ultrasounded and massaged her knee to help with the swelling. Then the pain started. She was moving and pressing and making her leg do things that she normally did, but took for granted. Now she has to help it do those things and it hurts like crazy for her. Her little face was so sad, she was in so much pain, but she knows that pain brings results.
While we were there, the girl that was helping Cecilee with her ultrasound, who is pictured was listening to Cecilee tell here story of how she got hurt and she said, "Was it in Cedar? You were playing Canyon View?" Cecilee said, "Yes". She said, "I was there, I saw you score twice and I saw you go down." What a small world. We had to make sure that the goalie wasn't her sister or friend.
Jane working on Cecilee's knee, trying to get more range of motion.
This was the next morning, still working on getting more range of motion. There was the look of so much pain on her face.
Cecilee's first time on the bike. It was a little painful at first, then she got the hang of it.
At this time, the same girl told Cecilee that she was at the game with her dad and he came up to Cecilee while she was in the suburban leaving and looked at her knee. She said,"My dad's name is MUCHI" I totally know who he is, he TOTALLY knows soccer. What a small world!!!

Good luck to Cecilee , its a long hard road I know, my sister had the same injury, hoping for a swift recovery and less pain :(

I know Cecilee probably doesn't know who I even am, but tell how sorry I am for her injury, and am so impressed with the way she has handled it! It amazes me sometimes how strong young people can be! This is definitely a hard thing she has to go through, but hopefully she has reason to be pleased with herself seeing the outpouring of love from everyone, and how she has been a positive influence in their lives.
