Another Year of Boys Soccer for SCHS

Trevor tryed out for the Boys Soccer Team again and was so nervous to go and check the list.
This was what he sent me from his phone, good thing he's in it as well.
I guess this counts as my picture with him by the list!!!!

He heard MY VOICE...

Trevor has some friends who LOVE to be daring and do fun things.
Well, during football season and soccer and rugby season we try and remind him
to not do anything dangerous that will keep him from playing sports.
Well, lately it's been DRIFT TRYKing on this little beauty.
They start at the top of a hill and NO BRAKES and DRIFT all the way to the bottom.
Yes, it stresses me out and by the looks of this thing, TREVOR is TOO BIG for it!!!!
Well, we had our talk with him about being smart and not getting hurt and
laying off until sports are over.
Well this one day I called him and told him that I was waiting for him
to go to his ward basketball game.
He said that he was at the school playing basketball with some friends and was on his way home. Well I waited and waited and waited, finally he gets home.
He runs in to change and I don't think anything of it.
We get to his game and he is walking like he is sooo sore. So I chalked it up to his new workout that Bryan has put him on. So he plays his game and we get home and if you know Trevor and his phone, they are NEVER connected!! He throws it wherever right when he walks in the door.
Almost like releasing the ball and chain!!!
So I pick up his phone and check his text messages, which is a usual at our home.
And I see a text from Garrett, "Hey Trevor ~ do you want to Drift Tryk before our game?"
Trevor's reply, "Yes that sounds great!"
Soooooo, I walk into the family room and look at Trevor and asked him, "Did you go Drift Tryking?"
He looked at me with guilt on his face and said, "Yes, how did you know?"
I told him that I saw a text from Garrett.
Then I remembered, I saw a sore on his back during his basketball game and  I asked,
"Did you get hurt? Take off your shirt and let me see your back?"
OH MY GOODNESS a HUGE Roadrash the size of my hand & fingers.
I just looked at him and said, "You have totally Lied to me and lost my trust, Trevor! I am soooo disappointed in you, I can't believe that you lied to me!!"
I was more hurt, than mad. I could see it on his face that he was wrong.
He said that he never rides the tryk, he rides a scooter and this was one of the only times he has ever tried it. While riding down the hill the wheel broke off and his body met the road.
After he got hurt, he said that he heard my voice and he knew that he got hurt because he lied about his whereabouts. Really he was playing basketball with those guys, but didn't tell me that he stopped and rode the tryk on the way home. His shorts & underwear were shreaded.
Sunday morning he comes into the kitchen in a towel and asked me to please put some Oils and Neosporin on his back, so I do and then he said,
"Mom, can you do it here too (as he drops one side of his towel and reveals his bu--!)
Oh my goodness, as big as my palm and then he reveals the other side,
BOTH Bu-- Cheeks!!!
All I could do was LAUGH my HEAD OFF!!!
I think he learned his lesson!!!
This is a picture of Trevor and his same friends collecting christmas trees to build a
HUGE BONFIRE!!!! They collected 50 trees.
Remember what happened last year? Navy caught himself on fire.
No fire incidences this time.
One more picture, these kids had the day off of school for Presidents Day.
Yes in February, they went to the LAKE to knee board.
They wore Dry Suits thinking that would keep them a little warmer in the water.
STILL COLD!!! But they had fun!!

Realignment of our Stake

We had stake conference on Sunday, February 17th and the word was out,
They were realigning the ward boundaries and
the rumor was our ward would be affected.
The main reason it was being aligned was because they need more leadership
in some of the other wards that was lacking and our was has ALOT of
leadership possibilities, considering a majority of stake positions are from our ward.
Soooooo our ward was prepared for the realignment.
We got to thinking that they were FOR SURE going to split our Heritage Estates Neighborhood,
because we have ALOT of strong families that live there.
So everyone was thinking that it would be the street in front of the churches or
the street that runs right into my driveway.

Sitting there on Sunday listening to the Stake President explain all of the reasons
and the cushioning of the blow, I felt like I was going to cry.
I had already split myself from SOOOOO many people that I love and am close to.
But, I was going to sustain the change and be happy NO MATTER what.
Soooo the time came and President Leydsman stood up to give the changes.
He started with saying, "There are 2 wards that will NOT be affected by any of the changes"
I KNEW that the 9th ward was not going to be one of those that came out of his mouth.
So I sat and waited and he said,
"The 2nd and the 9th wards will not be affected!"
OH MY GOODNESS, my jaw dropped and I'm sure all of the members in our ward did too!
I was sooo relieved and ecstatic with those words.
I wanted to jump up and scream, "Yes!!!!" but I sat like it didn't affect me at all
and like I didn't care. But really I was jumping up and down inside!!!
There was a deacon from our ward that did yell, "Yes!!!!"
After he announced that. It was sooo funny!!!
He only said what we all wanted too!
I sat patiently until the meeting was over and alot of us members
congregated at the back just hugging everyone!!!
I love my ward sooooo much and everyone is sooo close, we are like family!!!
I know that we won't be able to dodge the bullet much longer,
but we will enjoy the time that we have right now!!!
It goes to show, DON'T SPECULATE!!!!!!!

Valentines Day 2013

 I LOVE Valentines Day!!!!
I Love Hearts and I LOVE ... LOVE!!!!
Sydnee was asked to be someone's valentine this year, Sunai Taulugna (?)
She was quite excited but didn't know what to get him.
I told her, EVERY GUY Loves cookies/food, so let's make him a giant cookie.
So we did and we made some smaller heart shaped cookies for others.

For breakfast I always do pink heart shaped chocolate chip pancakes!!!
These cute girls on their way to school to give their valentines!!!
I have another tradition that I do with my family.
They LOVE HOMEMADE CHOCOLATE PIE, but it takes sooooo long to make
since everything is homemade, crust to the pudding, so your looking at a good couple hours!!!
So it is my gift to my kids every year their own chocolate pie!!
This is Trevor's favorite part of Valentine's Day, he loves chocolate pie!!!

Cecilee sent me this Valentine's Card from Barton - Cougar Nation!!! She is on the top left. Pretty Sweet!!!
We'd been HEART ATTACKED by Tia and her boys!!!
Soooo sweet and sooo cute!
I so remember doing this with my little kids when they were younger.
We would start February 1st and start cutting out hearts all different sizes and pink & Red.
Then attach them to shishkabob sticks and wake up early in the morning on Valentines Day and  take them around to my parents, and
brothers and sisters houses the morning of valentines day.
It's so cute to see Tia carrying on this tradition!! She is such a cute mommy!!!
Here are some pictures that Sydnee took during her Valentines Day.
This is her valentine, Sunai.
Cecilee called and asked me to help her do a candy bar card for Angel.
Here is the picture after she gave it to him.
He doesn't like chocolate so it was a little harder to come up with NON CHOCOLATE
sayings.

The 6th Man

I am so grateful that my kids go to an amazing high school that has sooooo much
SCHOOL SPIRIT!!!!
This was a big basketball game against Desert Hills and they
handed out tshirts that had
"6th Man" on the front.
They introduced the 5 starting players and then introduced the 6th Man
Warrior Nation
and they all shed their jackets and showed the shirt.
It was incredible!!!

DownUnder Bowl

The other night we were driving with Trevor from a ward basketball game,
he told Bryan, "Don't forget Dad, I've got to show you something."
I was intrigued and asked him What?
(I don't know how it got to an accident in the jeep and then to he got a ticket, etc.)
But by the time I got home, I was FUMING!!!!
Bryan was trying to calm me down, but I had already taken away
his driving privledges, his phone, and pretty much HIS LIFE!!!!
I walk into the house and Trevor hands me, "His Ticket!"
I grab it from him, soooooo angry and realize it's a few papers and DOESN'T feel like a ticket.
So I open it up and it's this paper that has invited him to come to Australia
and play in their DOWNUNDER Bowl and represent Utah.
OH MY GOODNESS, I just squeezed him with a huge hug!!!
It is in July and we are still debating whether or not we will be able to send him.
We would love to send Bryan and Trevor, since that is where Bryan served his mission.
We have a meeting with the coordinators, so we will find out.
What a compliment to his football skills.

Green Trees & Red Roses: Cambria's Wedding!

Introduce yourself– and tell us a bit about your love story-

Hello everyone! I am Cambria Irene (Horlacher) Hauck! I recently married my best friend, Jeff Hauck, after dating for three years. I first met Jeff through a friend, this friend desperately needed someone to come with her to hang out with these "super hot" guys and I was her last resort. I know this because that was the first and last time we ever hung out (haha). The whole drive over she kept talking about this guy named Jeff and how he was so hot and how they were practically together, I got the hint, she was staking her claim and I had no intention on getting in her way. Well that night was a dud, Jeff was the only guy there I could have been interested in and he was my friend's (or so she lead me to believe). I went home thinking I would never see any of those people again. Well the very next morning I had a facebook friend request from the one and only Jeff Hauck. I was flattered but a little confused seeing how he "practically had a girlfriend", but I figured there's no harm in being facebook friends. Right after I accepted he messaged me, we chatted, I asked him about him and my friend, he said they had hung out once and there was nothing there, I asked if he was sure about a million times, he asked to see me a million times, I asked again if he had a "practically girlfriend", he said no again and asked to see me again, and I caved. From the moment we met up we instantly hit it off, we talked for hours the very first time we hung out. The rest is history! We were inseperable, yes we had our ups and downs but we always decided we were better together! I love him so much and I feel so blessed to have found my better half, and we truly could not be any happier.

Tell us a bit about how he purposed-

When we decided marriage was the answer for us we went looking around for rings. I chose 4 different rings I really liked and told him I wanted him to make the final decision based on what reminded him of me! (It turned out perfect!!!) He chose the ring and bought it without my knowing, he then talked to my dad and asked permission, then set up the whole proposal. I had no idea it was coming when it did, his parents were out of town and he told me that he wanted them to be here when it happened. I dance on a hip hop team that does benefit concerts for different causes, but we also do little performances around town like flash mobs. We were doing a "splash mob" for the city at the Town Square splash pad (or so I thought). I got there and saw all the people playing at the splash pad and said, "these poor people have no idea what's about to hit them" little did I know that I was the one that had no idea what was about to hit! We started the flash mob in the splash pad to mine and Jeff's song in an upbeat version, I was dancing my little heart out when I bump into someone, I just kept dancing, then that someone turned me around, it was Jeff and he was in a full suit with a nervous smile on his face, he got down on one knee, asked me to be his, I kissed him and said yes! The day was unreal! I felt like I was in heaven!!! For the next month I was on cloud nine! If you want to see the video check it out here!

Your vision for your engagement shoot-
Pictures are so important to me! I love a good picture! So I found a photographer that had the taste I liked, they also had a photobooth that I wanted for the reception, the best part was they had a package so I booked it! For my engagements I just wanted our love to be captured, plain and simple. I wanted them to look natural and real! I'm not big on staged so she just captured real moments between us. There were lots of laughs and kisses, Jeff played his guitar, we joked, and we had a blast taking our engagements! Isn't that the way it should be?

The theme for your wedding –
When choosing a theme I was all over the place! It’s hard to narrow all your thoughts into one theme! What I decided I wanted to do was to play up the 12/12/12 date and have little details tied in but to have the décor focus towards a vintage/timeless theme! I used vintage items for décor and paid attention to the little details.

Most important things you wanted to incorporate-
The photo booth, having a meal, and making it an enjoyable and memorable day for everyone, especially my family!!
A bit about your dress & accessories –
When I first got engaged I was talking to my Mom and telling her what I wanted in a wedding dress. I said,“ I want a form fitting dress, with a little train, all lace, lots of details, vintage looking, and a long or ¾ sleeve.” Then I followed that with, “when can we go dress shopping?” My mom had a big smile on and said, “I think I have that in the closet…have you looked at my dress?” I ran to get it out of the closet and I knew right away it was exactly what I wanted! It fit perfectly but was a little long with me wearing flats and all so we had it altered to be a little shorter. As far as accessories, I wore red flats, and pearl earrings, my dress had so much beautiful detailing I didn’t want to take away from it all!

A bit about your hubs attire & accessories –

For Jeff, we wanted to stay with the vintage feel. So we got him a classic black tux with a tail! His mom absolutely loved the white vest with the white tie so that’s what he got! It looked so nice together, but I personally was rooting for a black vest and red tie. It didn’t matter though, he would look handsome in anything and it looked nice together

You wedding party attire-

Choosing the bridesmaids dresses and groomsmen attire is actually a lot harder than I had expected. I wanted the individual to show off their own style but also have it somewhat uniform. So for my bridesmaids, I always imagined red dresses, red is my favorite color. I just stopped by a store on my way home, about a week after getting engaged, and I found a bunch of red dresses in one store. That’s when I knew it was a sign, they had to wear red dresses! I chose four different styles of red dresses so that each dress would have 2 wearers. All of the dresses had short sleeves, and with it being winter I wanted them to not freeze so this is where I decided the individual would show. I told each girl that they would wear whatever cream cardigan they wanted, turquoise jewelry, and any shoes they wanted! Let me tell you, I was a little nervous about doing this, but it turned out absolutely perfect and exactly what I had invisioned. As for the guys, I didn’t want them all to have tuxes, cause I didn’t want it to take away from Jeff. I didn’t want just shirt and ties because I didn’t think that was dressed up enough. So I decided, vests are the answer. Vests are classy, dressy, and great for pictures! We found a bunch on sale and bought 12. Then we just had them all wear black pants, black shoes, and their own red tie so that they could show their own style in that. When it came to our parents I simply just told the Moms that they could wear whatever they pleased! And for the Dads we just got them a turquoise tie and told them black suit! It all turned out perfect and I couldn’t be any happier about my choices!

Where you chose to get married, and hold your reception & why-
We got married in the St. George temple! This was both of our “home” temple and we couldn’t have imagined being married anywhere else. So as far as a ceremony space, we had that covered! It was seriously magical getting married in the temple then coming out to see everyone waiting for you like you are royalty! It was amazing! I will be honest about the reception…I was one of those girls that always said,“I am not going to have my reception in a cultural hall!” However, that is exactly what I did! The one place I thought would have been big enough, and I loved the look and feel of it was already booked with a Christmas party and the party would not switch. I could have had my reception the night before at the venue I had originally wanted but I did not want to leave the reception without Jeff! Next best thing was my childhood Stake center! I went and looked again and had my heart softened, that was the venue! I was excited about using the Stake center, it was free and it was a challenge to me to make it look not like a cultural hall. I loved having it there, I feel that the feeling of home you get in any church building can’t be fabricated and it really added to my whole day.

Your first song-
My daddy daughter dance was really special. It was my dad's birthday and he gave me away so it was a little emotional. I love my dad and the love that we shared in that dance was really special and I will remember it for the rest of forever. Then my first dance with Jeff was so special. We just laughed, kissed, and smiled, we really couldn't believe we were married and we really were each other's forever. Both dances are engraved in my memory for forever and I will always cherish them!         My cute grandpa was our wedding singer and he sang both songs for us.

Invites & cake-
Let me start this out by saying that I have been richly blessed with amazing friends and family! For my invites my photography designed it at no extra cost. I just told her exactly what I imagined and she created it. When it came to printing, there was a family in my childhood ward that we are really close to. Her husband workts for Powerink and he gave us an insane deal as his wedding gift. We got 1,000 announcements printed with envelopes for so cheap. This should have cost us at least $1,000 especially for the quality that we got. They were absolutely beautiful. As far as the cake I had Blanca’s Designer cakes create my masterpiece. We have been friends with Blanca for years and I was so excited to work with her. She designed me a 4-tier, all different flavors, gorgeous cake as her wedding gift. Amazing friends right? I am really so blessed and I feel so grateful to have such special people in my life.

Your favourite moment-
It’s so hard to choose a favorite moment in such a spectacular day! Something I want to always remember is how I felt. How I felt seeing my best friend in the temple, how I felt when we looked at eachother over the alter, how I felt coming out of the temple to see my family and friends, how I felt driving away from the temple still in shock that we were actually married, how I felt celebrating our marriage, and just the feeling of the day. There is nothing like it!

Advice for other woman planning their wedding-
My advice for other women planning their wedding is to just enjoy it while it lasts. It seems like such a stressful time with so many decisions placed before you, but it only happens once. Enjoy it! Everything will be perfect on your day no matter what. Don’t stress out on the little things, it all works out in the end! You will be beautiful on your day, being surrounded by those who truly love you, and holding the hand of the love of your life! It doesn’t get much better than that so enjoy it! And soak up the feeling of the day!
