The City of Ivins asked me to write something about the pageant for the City Paper:
Friday night, April 16th, was the Miss Ivins Princess Pageant held at Tuacahn High School in the Hafen Theatre. We feel very blessed to be able to have such a beautiful facility to hold the pageant in. We would like to thank those at Tuacahn that helped make this possible. We had 13 beautiful girls participate: Cassidy Edgington, Steevi Hutchings, Shailynn Greenhalgh, Britney Kinghorn, Ashlee Svedin, Jocelyn Bozarth, Carly Porter, Shawnee Grimshaw, Shawnee Moon, Jessika Talbot, McKenna Riley, Meagan Profitt & McKenzy Madsen. The theme for the evening was, "New York, New York" so of course the girls danced their Opening Number to that song, which was sung by, Clay AhQuin. The MC for the evening was "The One and Only" Becca AhQuin who kept everyone laughing. The Outgoing Royalty: Becky Schroath, Joanie Panganiban & Ashlee Brown as well as their mothers did a wonderful job helping put the pageant together. The evening was filled with Sportswear Competition, Talent Competition, Private Interview, Poise & Presentation/On-stage Interview Competition & Most Photogenic. The awards went to: Most Photogenic-McKensy Madsen, 2nd Attendant: Jessika Talbot, 1st Attendant: McKensy Madsen, Miss Congeniality: Britney Kinghorn & OUR 2010 MISS IVINS: Jocelyn Bozarth. It was a magical evening for all those involved. I feel very honored to work so closely with all of these wonderful young women. We have some amazing & talented young women that live here in IVINS!!!!! Congratulations Girls and I look forward to next year. A special thank you goes to Benny & Tami who are so wonderful to work with us all year long.
