Prep football two-a-days: Snow Canyon - Salt Lake Tribune

The Snow Canyon Warriors football team hasn’t seen the postseason since 2006, and that kind of resume ordinarily wouldn’t make a new coach flush with excitement.
But it’s also true that Snow Canyon scored a big win over Dixie, which eventually went on to capture the Class 3AA state title, in a late-season game.
That win shows Warriors coach Marcus Matua the possibility that may present itself on the gridiron.
"The talk among coaches is that it’s going to take us a couple of years," Matua said. "We don’t believe that. I’m excited. I’m stoked for this opportunity. The boys have been great. They’ve been working hard. They will be able to be competitive. We just need to solidify the depth chart."
Matua will turn to the likes of returners Trevor Horlacher and Keaton Plant to lead the team.
Horlacher, who spearheads the Warriors’ defense at outside linebacker, is particularly versatile on offense Matua said the senior can "play anything" on that side of the ball.
Matua loves the participation numbers — there are 80 players in the program.
"I think our chances are great," said Matua, who was hired to replace Jay Graft last December. "The kids have bought into the system. Snow Canyon has always had the talent. It’s just a matter of putting it together."

Dad's moved to Kindred Rehab

Dad is doing better and will be moved to another rehab. He wanted to go back to Coral Desert, they were nice enough to keep all of his stuff there with the intention of having him come back, but after his stroke they sent two of their therapist over to see what his abilities were. They ended up denying him to go back to Coral Desert. It was so sad to watch my dad's reaction. He said,
"They don't want me? Did you call Tony?"
We explained that they don't have the equipment that can help you.
Then he said, "I will buy the lift for them."  He really wanted to go back to Coral Desert.
Mom, Clay, Max & Joe went to visit the other rehab's around town.
They decided on Kindred, it was older, but the staff was very nice.
This was dad's first day arriving at Kindred and getting settled into bed.
Then the pic with him in the BYU shirt, was his first day of therapy.
He was given so many different drugs that he was always so tired.
The next day he was wanting fried eggs and turkey bacon.
So my mom called me and I made some and ran it over to him.
He was soooo excited and loved every bite.

Dad is now on the 2nd floor

Dad's left side of his face and body has no feeling.
My mom made a funny comment,
"how are we suppose to hold hands with both of our left hands numb?"
She always has such a great attitude and so happy.

My poor dad, I don't know how much more he can take.
He has been through so much in the last couple years.
It's so hard for me to see this incredibly active man stuck in this body that won't do anything!!
Irene moistening dad's mouth with the pink swab.
Dad and Bryan always have jokes going on between the two of them.
Bryan asked dad how he was doing and dad said,
"I am sooo hungry and this sponge is delicious!!"

These boys love their grandpa!!
Trevor is swabbing grandpa's mouth and keeping it moist.
Dad is sooo hungry, the last great meal he had was the Pizza Factory pizza and steak & shrimp
on the first floor. He hasn't had anything to eat even in the ICU.
Hannemann holding and massaging grandpa's hands.
This was dad's first time meeting baby Tia.
She is dad's 26th grandchild.
Adam and Becca drove to be here with the family
