The woman who made me who I am today!!!

My mom has always been SUPERWOMAN to me, but why wouldn't she be,
MY dad is SUPERMAN, so she has to be SUPERWOMAN!!
She was always so amazing to me as a child at EVERYTHING she would be involved in.
When Cambria was in Kindergarten and I went to my first PTA meeting,
I thought to myself, "I'm turning into my mom!"
You have NO idea how true that statement was!!!
My mom ALWAYS had a clean house, she managed her kids and household
like a business!! She put her family first ALL of the TIME!!!
She made homemade meals and goodies everyday and was the BEST cook!

Her smile is infectious and her laughter and joking personality everyone LOVES!!
She would always surprise me when I would come home from school with a new outfit!
She would come and get me out of school and take me to the movies and shopping.
She was just always about having FUN!!!
She is the most amazing GRANDMA to all 27 of her grandkids.
She loves to spoil all of them!!!
When my dad got sick and she was caring for him 24-7
she became even more AMAZING to me!!!
Always looking for healthy options for him

Heart Breaking Sight

I took my mom up north with me to watch Trevor play against Copper Hills High School.
On our way home we stopped by the gravesite to see dad.
I was getting something in the car and looked to see my mom.
My heart just BROKE watching her stand there Alone!
It's hard to see my mom by herself, my heart just aches for her.
Thank goodness for the gospel and our knowledge of the Plan!!!

My mom and dad through the years 1968-2013

These pictures are of my mom and dad through the years they fell madly in love in 1967, graduated in 1968 and married 4 months later in California on October 25, 1968 and had me, their first child on October 18, 1969.
Their love is like no other. When I found this picture, I can only imagine what their reunion will be like. It will be JUST LIKE THIS, my mom engulfed in his arms and crying and saying,
"I missed you so much Clay!!!" and my dad's smile will be huge.
This picture was taken on Thanksgiving 2011
These pictures were taken right after my dad's stroke,
the one on the left was July 25th and the one on the right, August 25th, 2013.
This was taken the night before my dad died, Sept. 9th, 2013.
My mom was ALWAYS by his side and was the great woman behind the great man!!

I called my mom to wish her HAPPY ANNIVERSARY and she shared with me that this was the first time in their 44 years of marriage that she had bought dad flowers. She said that she was at the grave and talking to dad and scheduled a date with him. So she said, "I've got to get off the phone, I've got to get to the temple for the 8:40am session and my date." So I asked her who was going with her? and she replied, "Dad is meeting me there, just me and dad!"
It's so hard to see them separated, but I know that my dad is sooo close but for us we just can't see him, but we can FEEL him!!!
Someone told me that when I randomly cry, it means that our loved ones are near us and that's how we feel them. That would make so much sense, because I randomly cry cause
I miss my dad sooooo much!!!

Happy Heavenly Birthday DAD!!

Today is dad's birthday and our FIRST one without him!!
I still can't believe that my dad is gone!! My heart hurts so much!
My family is planning a birthday celebration at the gravesite, but Trevor is playing football in Payson so we will be missing it. Sydnee and I stopped by and picked up Red balloons to celebrate!!
I wanted to put up a sign and balloons and just talk to my dad!
I picked up a Big Mac also and Sydnee and I ate it in behalf of dad!!
I love you dad and wish you were here to celebrate with us, but I know you are
celebrating and singing for everyone in Heaven!
These were taken by Cambria, she represented our family, since we were up north for football.
These were from her blog

They all wrote notes to my dad on the balloons and released them!

My cute mom brought cupcakes for everyone!

My Dad's Obituary

Clayton Ah Quin

Obituary
  • "So sad to hear that Clayton has passed away. Our hearts are..."
    - Ward Davis

Clayton Keaunui Ah Quin Sr.

Hurricane

Clayton "Dad" Keaunui Ah Quin Sr. 62 yrs. old returned with Honor to our Heavenly Father, surrounded by his loving family and his Queen on September 10, 2013 at 12:30am. Our Loving Father was born on Sept. 27th 1950 to Joseph Keaunui Ah Quin and Henrietta Bee Ah Quin in Honolulu Hawaii, raised in Hauula on the beautiful north shore of Hawaii.

At 18 yrs old he was love struck by a carton of orange juice and a beautiful striking green eyed German Samoan cheerleader, Irene Maugatula Hannemann after his football game. Even though being raised in paradise our father chose to leave and follow his beautiful girlfriend to California on a football scholarship. Clay and Irene were sealed for time and all eternity in the Los Angeles temple in 1969.

After having two children and the love of a big family, our Dad decided to put off dreams of football and focus his attention to becoming the husband, father and patriarchal leader of his seven kids and 27 grand kids and his Queen.

Our father served as a Sunday school teacher, young mens president, elders quorum counselor, High Council, Bishop, Branch Presidency at the youth purgatory... but his favorite calling was that of a home teacher; but his GREATEST calling was that of a Father, Grandfather and a devoted Husband.

Our Amazing Dad showed great humility in his many occupational opportunities from flipping hamburgers at McDonalds to becoming a supervisor for Garrett Air Research to changing lives at Liahona Academy which he named and was co- owner and took great joy in his role as activities director while changing the lives of many young men who have always looked up to him and called him "Dad"

While being our Super Hero Dad and always supporting all of our many dance concerts, sporting events and family activities he also found the time to train and teach life lessons to his posterity by accomplishing one of his life long dreams finishing 10 consecutive St. George Marathons and benching 405 lbs until the age of 50!! "That's our Super Hero Dad". His greatest pastime and one that many people knew him by was his beautiful voice. He loved to sing and he took pride in participating in different events around the community. His voice touched many hearts and people came to hear him. We would tease him about putting on a concert when he was asked to sing for different events. Every time he sang, his biggest fan-the love of his life was there in the audience and he would sing to her and end by pointing her out. We will miss his voice but they are enjoying it in heaven.

Our Loving Father, Grandpa and Husband is survived by his loving Babe, Irene Ah Quin; his seven children and spouses: Tonya Ah Quin (Bryan) Horlacher, Clayton (Julee Mair) Ah Quin, Max (Sunshine Downing) Ah Quin, Joe (Janette Haws) Ah Quin, Irene Ah Quin, Jr., Adam (Rebecca Smith) Ah Quin, Tia Ah Quin (Andy) Stokes; his 27 grandchildren: Cambria Horlacher (Jeff) Hauck, Cecilee Horlacher, Kiana Ah Quin, Jaden Ah Quin, Trevor Horlacher, Tayvia Ah Quin, Sydnee Horlacher, Raya Ah Quin, Lisia Wolframm, Devan Smith Lemmon, Josh Smith Lemmon, Ammon Ah Quin, Joseph Tamasamoa (JT) Ah Quin, Hannemann Wolfgramm, Teancumm Wolframm, Janessa Ah Quin, Keawe Ah Quin, Kalli Ah Quin, Major Stokes, Avenna Ah Quin, Tristan Ah Quin, Legend Stokes, Kalea Ah Quin, Joelle Ah Quin, Tia Ah Quin and Maze Stokes; and his siblings: Almira Mapuana Ah Quin Ah You (Jr. Ah You) and brother, Elliott Ah Quin (Mackey Ah Quin)

Our dear father will be reuniting with his wonderful parents, Joseph Keaunui and Henrietta Bee Ah Quin; his father-in-law, Max Seiuli Young Hannemann; (his priesthood mentor) and mother-in-law, Irene Dole Hannemann; and his little "Earth Angel" granddaughter, Tierra Irene Wolfgramm.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 14, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Hurricane LDS West Stake Center, 272 South 700 West, Hurricane, Utah. Visitations will be held Friday afternoon from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Metcalf Hurricane Valley Mortuary, 140 North Main Street and Saturday at the Stake Center, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., prior to services. Special Kisses

“The mouth is made for communication, and nothing is more articulate than a kiss.”
“Close your eyes and I'll kiss you, Tomorrow I'll miss you.”
My mom and dad have ALWAYS loved kissing!!!
They would kiss in front of us kids ALL OF THE TIME!!
We loved to see the affection between the two of them and proof of how
much they loved each other.
My dad even though he wasn't awake he still demanded kisses from my mom.
When he would hear her voice from the other room, he would automatically close his lips and that was an indication to us that he wanted kisses from her.
So we would yell for her, "Mom, dad is closing his mouth, he wants kisses."
She would come running over and kiss his lips so tenderly.
We could see that he was still enjoying those kisses!!!
These pictures are sooo tender and loving of two people who have been through sooooo much in their 45 years together. But have endured so much in the last 2 1/2 years together.
I love my parents so much!!!
These are pictures from the hospital and some of their shared kisses. This was the day before we took dad home and was put in hospice. They love each other so much and it shows!!

Visitors from everywhere

So many people came to see my dad the last few days. Even though he wasn't coherent, he knew they were there. He was such a loved man.

His brother Elliott got there on Monday morning and stayed by his side the whole day. He kept saying that when my dad left the island when he was 11 and my dad was 18, he cried and cried because his brother left him. He said that it was the saddest day of his life. Now he is crying again, because his brother is leaving him again. He loved my dad so much and my dad LOVED his brother so much!!
The counselors from Liahona Academy came to say their good byes.
It was sooo special to watch them and listen to what they said to my dad.
They LOVED him sooo much!!!! He LOVED them just as much!!
His Aunty Tiny came to see him. She hasn't traveled in 20yrs.
This was the first time leaving the island of Molokai.
When she heard that my dad was dying she didn't even think twice, she knew she needed to be here.
When she was here she made a comment, "That he was suppose to be mine!"
We found out that when my grandma was pregnant with my dad she was thinking about giving him up for adoption to Aunty Tiny, but ended up keeping him and raising him with Grandpa.
She still helped raise him and LOVED him as her own, his whole life!!!
It was wonderful having them come to see him and meeting them for the first time.
Of course Uncle Sale was at his side for a few days. Aunty and Uncle drove down as soon as they heard and slept in their car for two days, outside of Irene's house. Uncle Sale and my dad had a special bond.
I set up a time to Skype with the family from Hawaii on Sunday night.
I just wanted them to see my dad before he left us. Even though he couldn't talk to them he responded by shirking his shoulder towards them. We would say,
"Dad if you can hear us shirk your shoulder!"
He always responded.
Our good friends The Daltons came to see dad.
Navy and Trevor have been best friends for years.
My dad knows Navy from watching him and Trevor play soccer.
He would come with Trevor to the hospital and rehab to see dad all of the time.
It was so nice of them to come and say good bye to dad.
Brian and Tina Henderson drove all of the way from California as soon as they saw on Facebook that dad was on hospice.
They loved my dad so much. My dad married them and kept a close eye on Brian as
he was a teenager.
