Our Blitz Chick

It's Blitz Football season and Cambria is a Blitz chick again. Tia is the coach and she loves being coached by her aunty. She is the youngest and enjoys doing sideline dances instead of cheers. It's a little different from high school cheer.

Cheer Tryout Dance

This was the tryout dance for this years cheerleaders. I thought this little girl was the cutest, she is the coaches daughter. She is so talented for being only 5. She watches and catches on to everything. She is going to be one amazing cheerleader when she gets older.

Border League Basketball

Trevor had a basketball game tonight and both sets of grandparents were able to be there to watch him play.

Cheer Tryouts

Today was Cambria's absolutely last time wearing her cheer uniform and performing her duties as cheerleader. The cheer tryouts for next years squad took place and Cambria had to perform the cheer and dance so everyone in the audience knew what it was suppose to look like. It was nice to sit there and not worry about whether or not my daughter was going to make it. She has always been fun to watch.

Cecilee's Going to Senior Ball

Preference was just Saturday night and I get a phone call on Monday at work and this boy wants to ask Cecilee to Senior Ball, which is on April 17th about a month away. So here in Utah they do creative things to ask each other to the dances. I am so excited for Cecilee, he is a very nice boy and she should have alot of fun with him.

A New Calling

Sunday was Stake conference and I was called to serve in the Stake Young Women's Presidency as 1st Counselor. As they sustained me, the stake president asked me to come up and bare my testimony. WOW, what a flashback, our family spoke in stake conference about 2 years ago and now I'm having to do it again. I am totally still traumatized by that experience, but of course I went up. It wasn't too bad. I am so excited about my new calling. I am going to be working with some amazing women. One happens to be my best friend from high school, Sara. We don't see a whole lot of each other so we feel like it's Heavenly Father's way of getting us together.

My kids are growing

Trevor seems to be getting taller every night he goes to sleep. Not too long ago he was just barely taller than Sydnee, now he is becoming a GIANT. This was taken after they both played soccer games.

Preference 2010

Tonight was the Preference Dance, where the girls ask the guys. Cambria went with Zach Polatis and Cecilee went with McCauley Smith. They had a good time and enjoyed their dates. Cambria's group went to Brushfire (Ceramic place) and lunch at 25 Main for their daydate. Cecilee's group went caving in Snow Canyon State Park. They both had a good time.
Cecilee all ready for her date. She loves her black Chuck Taylors.

I am EXHAUSTED!!!!

Have you ever had a time in your life that you couldn't wait to get through a day or the upcoming week? I have felt like that, for the last couple weeks. My life seems to be going faster and faster and almost out of control. I almost feel like I am doing a little toooo much. I am the Ivins Princess Pageant Director, I am on the RCL Soccer Board (doing the uniforms for the Rec. Program), I am helping with Grad Nite for Cambria's Graduating Class, I have a full time job, I am helping with the Iron Man station #9 and I am compassionate service leader in my ward and just got called to a Stake Position. My kids all play soccer, Trevor plays Basketball also, Cambria dances for the Blitz Football Team also, so I have 6 games that go with that. Now that I put all of this on paper, where do I draw the line? Well, I know exactly what has been neglected, MY HOUSE!!!!! I stayed up till 12:30am last night and did laundry and wiped down everything in my kitchen, cleaned Trevor's closet, etc. And I loved every moment of a quiet house, the smell of laundry detergent, the sound of Michael Buble' singing and the feel of my rubber gloves in scalding HOT water. I love moments like that. I just wanted to vent, what a boring post!!!! It's just for me.

Another Blog

I put together another blog for the Miss Ivins Princess Pageant: www.missivinspageant.blogspot.com So that we have a way to communicate with the girls. I take pictures at each workshop and post them so that MOM's know what's going on and they can feel like they are a part of this whole process. I also attach the video of the Opening Number that they work on so that they could work on it all week. Enjoy!!!

"Most Preferred"

Cambria and Brett waiting for the assembly to begin.
Cambria and her Cheer Sister, Paige (Most School Spirit)
Cambria with Liz Ricks (Most Likely to Succeed), & Kylie Moore (Most Athletic)
Cambria and Brett after the pnut butter game - I think Brett is experiencing a little pnut butter high.
Cambria has had the most amazing Senior Year, not only was she able to go to GIRL'S STATE, also be a cheerleader again this year, but she wanted to be a part of Seminary Council (and she is), being crowned Homecoming Queen, and now being voted on by the whole student body, "Most Preferred". Wow, she has had so much fun!!!

Well at the assembly they presented all of the awards, like: "Most Likely..." So they saved the Preference Royalty for the end. They called the Royalty up and had them WORK for their award. They put the couples up front and handed them a large piece of glass with pnut butter on both sides and they each had to lick off the pnut butter. Well, if anyone knows Cam, you know how competitive she is and so was her partner, Brett. There was NO way THE SENIORS were going to loose. So they started licking, it was hilarious, it looked like they were "Making Out", but they were so focused on licking that pnut butter off. (I found some pictures on facebook and uploaded them.) They did end up winning. They both ran out to the nearest trashcan and threw up all that pnut butter. They were so funny.
Stay tuned, tomorrow is the dance and I will of course have a post of both Cam & Cec.

Soccer Cousins

Trevor and Jaden played against each other last night in a soccer game. They have been playing against each other for the last 5 years. I love how they play their game but during the game you can see the love that these two boys have for each other. Whether it's a pat on the butt, a high 5 or one of them pulling each other up onto their feet. They have such great sportsmanship towards each other. They are each other's brothers, the one's they never had. I love these boys.

Cheer is OVER!!!

Cambria receiving her award "Most Outstanding Senior" voted by all of the other cheerleaders.

Last night was Cambria's Cheer Banquet celebrating the end of the year. I can't believe that her high school experience is almost over. It was a beautful evening celebrating these girls accomplishments. Cambria was awarded the Most Outstanding Senior CHeerleader, which she received the same award last year as a Junior. Then the Juniors made shadowboxes for the Seniors. Cambria has had a wonderful 2 years on the cheerleading squad and has been blessed to have wonderful coaches. I am so glad that she was able to experience cheer during high school. She was so much fun to watch through the years.

Science Fair Project

During Spring Break Trevor had the assignment to get going on his science fair project. Well of course because he is Trevor, he waited till the last day of spring break to get it done. So I was at work and asked Cecilee to please help him and please take pictures so that he could put them on his board. So they did and collected all of their data and information that they needed to complete the report. Well I got home from work and asked Trevor how it went and he said that it was good, they only had a little problem. Bryan was listening and commented, "I wouldn't call it a little problem." So by that time I am very interested in what they are talking about. Bryan continued, "I came home from work and walked into the kitchen and all I saw was 5 kids with rags trying to clean the ceiling, cupboards, walls, floors, EVERYTHING!!! I had never seen a mess like that before. The only thing I told them was, you had better clean it so that mom doesn't get mad." So I asked what happened. Well as anyone knows if you put a Mentos candy in a Diet coke it explodes and shoots like a rocket. Well Trevor's Science fair Project is, "what if I changed the temperature of the Diet Coke would it make a difference?" So he refrigerated one and left one at room temperature and then boiled water and put a bottle in the boiling water to raise the temperature. Well, as he was taking the bottle out of the boiling water the temperature raised so much that it popped the cap off and the rest is history!!! It went EVERYWHERE!!!! Cecilee even said that it went into the family room and hit the TV, into the entryway and the living room by the front door. She said, "Mom, it was incredible the mess it made." Like that was suppose to make me feel better. I stood there with a BLANK look on my face and made my way to the kitchen, Trevor was right next to me and said, "Mom I mopped the floor like 20 times. I'm sure you won't find a sticky place anywhere." What do you think? Of course I found sticky everywhere. So far, I have found it between my two binders that I have my compassionate service stuff in and my pageant stuff. I found it on the bottom braces of the chairs, the legs of the chairs, the edges of the drawers, etc. I am sure that I will continue to find it everywhere, since they did say it went everywhere.

In Support of Our Scout Leader

This week Trevor's scout Leader and our friend, James Evans dad passed away. Being the Compassionate Service Leader in my ward I arranged a BIG meal to be brought into the family of 5 Lasagna's, 3 Salads, Lots of Garlic Bread and then I wanted to have dessert and wanted to have James' scouts help out with that. James is their scout leader and a wonderful leader to these boys. So I asked them if they would mind making some cookies to take over to James' house for dessert and then if they wanted to show support for James' meet at our home at 6:00pm in their scout uniforms and we would go over to the viewing. We had ALL of the boys except for one show up with cookies and fully dressed in uniform. It was awesome to see them all come into the funeral home and to see the look on the faces of the family. The boys were such gentlemen and it was such a good experience for them. Bryan and the Bishop drove the boys over to the viewing and spoke to them about showing respect and reverence and exactly what a viewing is all about. They were so cute to watch.

Another Testimony of Prayer

Tonight I received a call from Cecilee and she said, "Mom, I put the keys in the cupholder and came back to leave after soccer practice and they are gone." She said, "I looked everywhere, and I put them right on top of my IPOD and my IPOD is still there." I already know that the van doesn't lock, so I said, "Are you serious, you left your IPOD in the van, plain as day with the keys on top?" Have you looked everywhere? Have you said a prayer? I told her say a prayer and ask for help and I will do my part here. I got on my knees also and prayed and she called me back and said, "Mom, I still can't find it." So I told her that I would be on my way to get her. I was worried, because she was at the College and it's NOT a very good area there for a young girl to be sitting out in the parking lot by herself as it gets dark. So before I left I went into Sydnee's bedroom and pleaded to my Heavenly Father to PLEASE help her find the keys and explained that these were the only keys that we had for the van and I did not have extra money to pay to get another key made, etc. I got up and walked out of the room, went into the office to tell Bryan I was ready to go, grabbed a flashlight and my phone rang. It was Cecilee, "Mom, I found another set of keys to the van, but NOT the ones I originally used. They were behind a panel in the glove box that happened to fall open and they were way down at the bottom. I am on my way home." I asked her, "Did you say a prayer and thank Heavenly Father, because you know that is the only way those keys got there or were found." I ran to my room and got on my knees and thanked my Heavenly Father for hearing our prayers and helping us exercise our faith in him. I love when my children can exercised their faith and help build their testimony of prayer and the gospel. I am so glad that Cecilee experienced that and got to see first hand the hend of the Lord in our lives.

SOCCER SEASON has begun!!!

Spring is Soccer Season and all 4 kids are playing. Cambria is done with cheer and is dancing with Aunty Tia doing the Blitz Chicks for the Semi-Pro Football Team here in St. George and also playing soccer. She said the other night, "I am so excited to start soccer, it's like Christmas Eve for me." She hasn't played for the last 3 years and can't wait. She went to her first soccer practice and came home and said it was quite a workout and thinks she stinks. Cecilee and her coach said, "Cambria hasn't missed a step, missing 3 years of soccer and is excited to have her out there." Cecilee and Cambria will be playing against each other in their games. Trevor is playing Soccer and Basketball right now. He made the 8th grade Border League Team and is enjoying his team and gaining more confidence in his ability to play basketball. He is also playing soccer with his club team during the same time. He's use to playing 2 sports at a time. Sydnee is back on her soccer team also. Our Saturday's are back to being crazy busy, but WE WOULDN'T have it any other way!!!!

The Polar Plunge!!!!

We've been cleaning our pool and had someone drain it and acid wash it and clean it. Now we are filling it with water again, which took about 2 and 1/2 days. (I'm gonna hate that bill). But the kids have been so itching for it to be warm and start swimming again. So the boys wanted to jump in just to be BOYS!!!! So I got a picture of them just jumping in and then running into the house. They said that it felt like they hit a sheet of ice and it shocked their systems. I'm sure the pool was about 30 degreees. As you can see the pool isn't all the way full yet, but they didn't care. The deep end is 8 feet, but there it's probably 6 1/2 ft. I told them be careful, it's not as deep as normal. They just love creating memories for me to document. Sydnee and her friends did it too, but only dipped themselves in the spa, which was freezing also.

You hit 40 & you need glasses

Bryan has been squinting for the last year and just this year it's gotten so bad that when he was at work he was trying to write out an invoice and he kept squinting and adjusting the paper. A lady handed him her reading glasses and what do you know, HE COULD SEE. She told him that she got them at Walmart and they were the weakest strength. So we went to Walmart and got a pair of reading glasses for my old man. I was laughing so hard, because NONE of them looked good on his face, but he needed something to help him read. So we ended up getting a pair. I didn't get a picture, but YOU KNOW I WILL!!!! hahahaha

Miss Ivins Princess Pageant 2010

Its that time of the year again, the Miss Ivins Princess Pageant is coming up on April 16th. The theme this year is, "A Night in Time Square" and the opening number will be, "New York, New York" sung by my dad and choreographed by my sister Tia. The Mistress of Ceremonies will be my Sister in law, Becca. She makes the pageant worth watching. She is the BEST!!! I feel very honored to have her do the MC'ing again for the 3rd year. We have 13 girls participating and I think that this may be my last year as the Pageant Director.

Happy Birthday JADEN!!!!

Jaden and Trevor are 4 days apart and have always been like each other's brother that they never had. They are so close and I am so glad that they have each other. I hope you have a wonderful birthday Jaden!!! I sure love you and your example to others.
