Paint War
Sydnee and a couple of her friends: Abby & Jacquel decided to have a paint war after painting some birthday signs for their girlfriend, Aspen.
Not quite sure who ended up being the winner.

We love Soccer Season!!!
Trevor is the tallest one on his soccer team and most of the time, the tallest on the soccer field-both teams included. He now measures 6'3" and only about 170 lbs. He is loving soccer.
He is playing Defense this year. When one of his coaches first saw him he said, "You are a Big Fella, you will be perfect as a defender." well Trevor has always, all of his years playing, played a Forward and always had an offensive mind. Well he has learned a new position and starting to like it.
The beautiful sunset happening in the west. I love SPRING weather, it's beginning to warm up.
Trevor is #18 and Navy, his best friend is #7. They love playing together.

Miss Ivins Princess Pageant 2012
My dad came and sang, even though he had just had his 2nd knee replacement on Monday afternoon and the pageant was Saturday evening. He usually sings to the contestants, but knowing there is no way he would be comfortable for 3 hours waiting to sing, I added something to the program this year. I had him sing at the beginning so the Royalty could dance with their Dad's. My dad sang, "What A Wonderful World". That is my absolute favorite song that he sings and yes, once again, he got tons of compliments about his beautiful voice. I love my dad and so grateful to him that he is always willing to be there for me and my sisters when we need him to sing.
These handsome boys were the escorts for the night. They helped move the stage and escort the beautiful contestants. They were quite the hit with the crowd and the contestants.
From Lt. to Rt.: Braxton Kunde, Jordan Svedin,
Trevor Horlacher and Navy Dalton
All of the contestants backstage waiting to do the opening number. We had 16 contestants this year and so much fun with these girls.
Our 2011 Ivins Royalty in their masks.
Lt. to Rt.: Missy Madsen, Megan Leydsman and Kamri Hafen. We were missing McKensy Madsen because there was a Dance Company Review for SCHS and she was the president.
The MC's while waiting for the judges to tally the votes and complete the ballots. They held a Mr.Ivins with our 4 escorts. (They had NO idea and were NOT very happy, especially my son) They had the audience decide with clapping, cheering and stomping. Whoever got the most cheers won, "Mr. Ivins". It was between Trevor and Navy and when they announced it they said, "Our winner is Jordan!" Trevor was so excited that it wasn't him, then they put the crown on him. You should've seen his face-NOT HAPPY! They called him the wrong name.
The 16 contestants waiting for the announcement of the new Ivins City Royalty 2012. Our stage was absolutely beautiful, the theme was "Unmask the Magic"
All of the contestants and the escorts right after the announcement was made for the new royalty. We caught them before the families bombarded the stage and the contestants.

Birthday Breakfast
Sydnee wanted to take one of her good friends to breakfast for her birthday. We picked Aspen up at 6:30am and went to Kneaders. They had all you can eat french toast and we had a great time celebrating her birthday.
Dad's Big Day FINALLY!!!!
I just hung up with my parents and today is my dad's surgery day FINALLY, after waiting for almost 5 months to have his knee replacement put back in. They sounded so good and excited. My dad is ready to move onto the recovery process of this whole trial that he has been through these last few months. We always wonder what we are to learn from our trials. I have watched my mom and dad's relationship get stronger and closer, even though they have always had a wonderful marriage. We always wonder why we all go through certain trials in our lives, but as long as we have the big picture in mind and remember why we are here, we know Heavenly Father has a plan for us.
I read a quote from one of our general authorities from conference, "Just when all seems to be going right, challenges often come in multiple doses applied simultaneously. When those trials are not consequences of your disobedience, they are evidence that the Lord feels that you are prepared to grow more. He therefore gives you experiences that stimulate growth, understanding, and compassion which polish you for your everlasting benefit. To get you from where you are to where He wants you to be requires a lot of stretching, and that generally entails discomfort and pain......This life is an experience in profound trust--trust in Jesus Christ."
I thought this fit my dad's situation so well. But we all go through certain trials and we need to realize it's Heavenly Father's way of making us stronger.
